Since we are celebrating National Hairstylist Appreciation Day this month, we thought it would be fitting to highlight one of My Creative Studios’ talented barbers. Eduardo Cruz has been a professional barber since 2007, and his passion for the art is still burning strong.
Eduardo was inspired to be a barber when he saw that his talent could instantly improve the moods of his customers. He noticed that a simple cut could put a smile on someone’s face.
“That inspires me every day to continue doing this beautiful profession,” Eduardo said.
Although he completed his barber certifications in 2007, he is still learning something different every day in this industry. When asked about his favorite service to give to clients, he said it’s not just a cut or a beard trim. He strives to provide quality service to his clients no matter what he is doing.
Eduardo’s specialty is attention to detail and excellent customer service. He wants to make sure all of his clients are comfortable during the appointment and are happy with their results. Currently, he is most fond of full service trends in men’s grooming that involve haircuts and beard trims.
However, he finds that the most challenging aspect of his job is trying to understand what the client wants when they come into his shop. Once he figures out exactly what the client needs, he gets straight to work and ensures they are satisfied with the service.
His ideal work environment is one where you feel at peace as soon as you walk in the door. His ultimate goal is to make the appointment as enjoyable as possible for his clients. Eduardo also wants his environment to complement his work, which is why he loves his salon suite at My Creative Studios. He works hard to keep a welcoming culture at his business.
Finally, when we asked Eduardo what advice he would give to someone starting in this industry as a professional barber, his response reflected his devotion to his craft.
“Don’t do it for the money. Do it for the passion you have for this art,” said Eduardo.
He says because you are providing a service, there will always be money coming in, but if you do it with passion, you will be very proud of what you can achieve. Wise words from someone who has been in this industry for many years!
